Orthognathic Surgery
Mandible surgery
Not only is the lower jaw functionally crucial for eating, speaking, and breathing,
but it is also a critical determinant of the beautiful shape of our faces,
whether we have a lantern jaw, broad chin, long chin, short chin, or no chin.
This means that the shape of the lower jaw is a major determinant of a person's attractiveness,
and customized surgery that takes into account the length, width,
and degree of protrusion of the jawbone is necessary
to achieve a chiseled, refined jaw that is both functional and perfect.

Differences in
intermaxillary fixation
When the displaced
jawbone is immobilized for
a period of time with wires or bands
to keep the upper and lower teeth
from moving, it's called intermaxillary
fixation. This allows for a correct
and secure bite without intermaxillary
anchorage, resulting in a safer surgery
and a more comfortable recovery
with less pain and discomfort
for the patient.
Additional surgeries
as needed
For more aesthetic results,
chin tip surgery or square
jaw surgery can be combined
as needed to achieve
the best surgical outcome.
Mandibular movement is enough to
correct the bite and provide sufficient improvement
Mandibular surgery in 'One Percent' is a surgery that repositions the entire lower jaw to match the bite,
and if the upper jaw bones are in normal position and function and are not aesthetically compromised,
the bite can be corrected by moving the lower jaw alone rather than attempting a full jaw surgery,
resulting in half the surgical scope of a full jaw surgery.

Is it possible to have a beautiful and stable mandibular surgery?
Many clinics focus on the aesthetic aspect of mandibular surgery
and overlook the functional aspect.
Or, conversely, many patients consider oral and maxillofacial surgery based on
the functional part only and cannot decide because they think that it is
difficult to meet the aesthetic part of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The functional part of jaw correction surgery is the basic of the basics,
but the aesthetic part is also an important part that should not be overlooked.
We can confidently say that One Percent Plastic Surgery is the only place where
you can get the best of both worlds: aesthetics and functionality.
One Percent Plastic Surgery is a team of doctors with extensive clinical experience in facial bone surgery.
Through constant research, we design facial bones that are not one-size-fits-all to improve your
functional issues while giving you a unique and refined look.
Years of accumulated expertise
There are two main types of mandibular surgery: sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) and intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO).
At One Percent Maxillofacial, we don't specialize in one method over the other. A surgeon who specializes in mandibular surgery
should be able to perform all of the procedures in the spectrum of maxillofacial surgery.
The right procedure for you may vary depending on your symptoms, and it's best to choose the method that best improves your center of gravity.
At One Percent's Mandible Surgery, we take into account the way your jawbone moves, the location of your nerve lines,
and the risks involved, and recommend the best option for your comfort and safety, so that you can have the best possible outcome,
both aesthetically and cosmetically.

Beyond Limits
SSRO(sagittal split ramus osteotomy) Procedure
It is more stable immediately after surgery and is more comfortable as it avoids intermaxillary fixation. Although the surgical time is longer than IVRO, it favors a stable recovery and provides better initial fixation. The risk of nerve damage is relatively high due to the scope of the cut surface, but preoperative 3D CT to pinpoint the location of the nerve tracks and skilled surgeons to perform the surgery make it safer.
